Our hotel and its History

Hospitality is a certain everyday culture in our dealings with one another that is characterized by mindfulness, freedom, tolerance and shared life.
Wolfgang Vorländer

Health resort and Brine bath

The "Bad Bienenberg" was opened as early as 1876 and rose from the fourth to the second class of inns. It became a popular "climatic health resort and brine bath". From the middle of the 20th century, a new kind of hospitality emanated from the Bienenberg and the history of the Bienenberg also became a story of God's faithfulness:

A new kind of Hospitality

After the end of the Second World War, Mennonite Christians from Switzerland, France and Germany decided to set an example of reconciliation. In 1950, they founded an international community Bible school for the Anabaptist theological training of young adults. Just a few years after its foundation, the "European Mennonite Bible School" needed more space. In 1957, it was able to move into the "Bad Bienenberg" and reopen the guest house and restaurant, which had been closed during the Second World War.

In the 60 years that followed, the center underwent numerous changes that made it what it is today: a pleasant place with an educational center, restaurant and hotel.

Training and Conference Center

Today, the Bienenberg Training and Conference Center Association unites the Hotel & Restaurant and the Bienenberg Training Center.
